According to Deep-Purple.net, a documentary about DEEP PURPLE will be shown on The Biography Channel in the U.K. on August 20 at 8:00 p.m., 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m.),August 21 (10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.),August 22 (9:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.) and August 23 (8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.).

In other news, DEEP PURPLE keyboardist Don Airey and friends (Robert Hart, Keith Airey, Chris Childs and Harry James) will do a couple of gigs in the U.K. later this month. On Wednesday, August 24 (7:30 p.m.) they will play at the Alnwick Playhouse in Alnwick and on Saturday, August 27 (8:00 p.m.) they will play at The Stables Theatre in Wavendon, Milton Keynes.

DEEP PURPLE are scheduled to release their new album, "Rapture of the Deep", mid-October via Edel Records in all territories outside the U.S. The follow-up to 2003's "Bananas", which will be the group's first release since their split with the EMI label, will include such cuts as "Rapture of the Deep", "Girls Like That", "Wrong Man", "Junkyard Blue" and "Back to Back".

DEEP PURPLE spent five weeks at a Los Angeles studio earlier this year recording the new CD with producer Mike Bradford. The album is described by Airey as "a lot heavier" than "Bananas". "We recorded it in the same studio that use to be used by KORN, and it's got a wonderful sound," Airey said. "It's got a real, immediate drum and organ sound. I was really happy working in there."
